A Visit to Chapters Bookstore in Coquitlam

Yesterday it was raining so much and so hard that we decided to forgo our usual neighbourhood stroll and make it an inside day. So we headed down to the Coquitlam location of Chapters to look for picture books for the twins. And coolness of all cool things, I found the best picture book on the shelves, GONZO, Hunter S. Thompson. A pictorial memoir of the greatest gonzo journalist of all time, with an introduction by Johnny Depp.

We also had the pleasure of once again visiting with Alex Ritchie, the illustrator of the kids book, Free-range Babies. Annalie and Story have their very own copy of Free-range Babies, one that was signed by Alex and Jon Ritchie.

I’m not sure, but I do believe that Annalie prefers the psychedelic blue and orange colour of the Hunter S. Thompson book.

  1. Have you also acquired “The Paperbag Princess” by Robert Munsch for your lil princesses? (My son probably still knows it by heart 25 years later!) It’s not quite “Gonzo” but it does have a dragon and despicable prince. 😉
