In today’s effort to support a local, family owned business my daughter and I visited C Market Coffee for drinks and a couple of sandwiches.
My daughter (Blonde Bear) started with the C Market House Made Lemonade. She declared it to be “not overly sweet and as you can see, it is loaded with fresh lemon slices.” Her words.
“House made” or made from scratch is the theme of everything at C Market Coffee. Whatever you order, you can be assured that they have made it on location, from scratch.
I am usually a black coffee type of guy but today I went WAY out of my usual and had a Pink Latte – the pink from beet root. It had a pleasant taste – towards the end it was a it “sandy” tasting but overall, the beet root was a cool idea. And of course, it looks beautiful – you know how that is important!
Part of the reason I go for black coffee is that I just don’t like the taste of cows milk. So today I tried oat milk. I have to say, even though it was similar to regular milk, I liked it. The oat milk had a very nice taste with a creamy, very much milk-like feel as I drank it.
My daughter is desperately trying to live the life of a Millennial. So her lunch choice was obvious; avocado (multigrain) toast ($7) with a poached egg ($2) on the side.
The toast had a creamy, perfectly ripe avocado with just enough cracked black pepper to make your taste buds snap to attention. And is there anything better than a squishy ripe tomato with a sprinkle of salt on it?
And my sandwich. The C Market Coffee “A+ Croissanwich”. For $10 this a great deal.
A multigrain croissant with thick slices of not too crispy and yet not soggy bacon, scrambled egg, cheddar cheese, spicy Sriracha mayo, avocado, and leafy greens. It was a massive sandwich!
We’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu – so many good choices all made from scratch. Very beautiful food that tastes great.
