An after school hankering for some sweet treats came upon me while I was wandering around Metrotown this afternoon so I did what any sane person would do – I left the mall, crossed Kingsway and went to the Cactus Club Cafe.
We ordered three desserts to share. The first was the Peanut Butter Crunch Bar. This one is unbelievably rich and decadent. Almost too rich.
The next was the Cactus Club Cafe’s version of Key Lime Pie. Their rendition of Key Lime Pie is much lighter than other Key Lime pies which often have an almost custard like consistency. I thought the lime flavour could have been stronger but this is top quality and I would definitely order it again.
The third dessert we had was their New York style cheesecake with a raspberry compote. This was dreamy. Ultra creamy texture with that perfect combination of sweet from the raspberry compote and the hint of cheese-tartness in the cheesecake. Wonderful.
Cactus Club. Another winner experience. I will return and highly recommend it.
