Free Ice Cream at the Waterfall Café

Sun-seekers will have even more space to enjoy at the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre starting this weekend, and every day through the summer, as the outdoor Waterfall Café opens its doors and scenic patio for the coming months.

The Waterfall Café is accessible to all Stanley Park visitors and on Saturday, May 23, visitors will have more reasons to celebrate: Vancouver Aquarium is providing Stanley Park guests with complimentary (that is a fancy word for FREE!!!) ice cream, iced lemonade and Salt Spring Coffee on opening day.

The Waterfall Café summer opening celebration will also include:

  • Appearances by Bee Bop the beluga mascot, who will be joined from 1-2 pm by the Vancouver Canucks’ Fin
  • Interactive opportunities to learn about the Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program and AquaVan
  • Music and family-fun activities

The Waterfall Café is located on the ground level of the Vancouver Aquarium’s outdoor Ocean Courtyard nestled among the beautiful tree-lined park, just to the left and down from Aquarium’s main entrance.

The Café provides guests with umbrella-shaded outdoor seating against the backdrop of a waterfall and, for those wanting to soak in the sun, spacious grassy areas for a perfect picnic-style break.

Food and beverages are available for purchase at the Café, which is accessible from 10am to 5pm every day of the week. The cafe will offer the same full menu as the Aquarium’s main indoor café, including favourites such as Ocean Wise™ fish and chips, a wide selection of kids’ meals as well as soft ice cream for dessert.

Café purchases support the Aquarium’s conservation, research and education programs.
