Greenpeace has created a ranking system to tell you, the consumer, just how sustainable fourteen of the big canned tuna sellers are in their tuna procurement practice. The cool and easy to use graphic that Greenpeace created can be found on their website.
All you have to do is click on the can of tuna in their list to learn more about the company’s commitment to sustainable tuna procurement and fishing practices. Interesting to note that Safeway’s canned tuna sits at the number three position for sustainable procurement practices. What is even more interesting, and quite disappointing, is who is at the bottom of the list.
