I knew that today I would have the opportunity to visit Ambleside Beach in West Vancouver and Trout Lake in East Vancouver so I thought I would compare the washroom facilities in these parks.
First up was the public washroom at Ambleside.
The “decor” can best be described as Soviet-era chique.
Next up was the washroom at Trout Lake. To be fair I wanted to compare outdoor public washroom to outdoor public washroom so I did not visit the washroom facilities inside the spectacular new Trout Lake Community Centre. I visited the public washroom facility located in the field near where the baseball diamonds are located.
What I found was that the men’s washroom was locked up tight.
Why did I do this seemingly bizarre comparison? Because I have toddlers who need to use a washroom basically instantly so I am actually going into washrooms I never would have dreamed of going if it was just my personal needs.
It is interesting to see what public facilities are available.
As it turns out, on Sunday I headed even further east and did a walkabout at Sasamat Lake. Of course the kids needed to use a toilet as soon as we started walking and this is what we found.
