Smoking a Brisket on the Traeger

As I may have mentioned, earlier this summer I bought a Traeger pellet grill. I did this to benefit my family. Yeah, that’s my story!

The reality is, the Traeger is a great addition to our home because while most people think of it as a smoker, it is actually really useful as a convection oven. When we were in the heatwave this past summer, having a convection oven outside was a great way to cook delicious foods without heating up the house from running the oven inside.

While I did bake bread in my cast iron Dutch oven, cooked pork butts, smoked salmon, and made pots of stew on the Traeger, my favourite thing to cook was beef brisket. So without further ado, have a look at the video of me pulling a brisket off the smoker, letting it rest, and then slicing it up (and tasting it).
