While Chromebooks do not have programs or apps loaded directly on them, they do have and use the Chrome operating system and it is does occasionally require an update.
In the bottom right hand corner of the photo above you can see the upwards pointing arrow – that is the indicator to say you need to restart to update. Unlike the dreaded Windows desktop updates that can slow the productivity of your day, the Chrome OS update typically takes less than 10 seconds.
To complete the restart-update procedure, simply click on the upwards pointing arrow and then click the “restart to update” button. That’s it. The Chromebook will restart and you can get back to work.
