Even as I am still mulling over the recent Vancouver Opera production of Lillian Alling, I am reminded that the Vancouver Opera production of Lucia di Lammermoor is coming sooner, rather than later; opening night is set for Saturday, December 4th.
Lucia di Lammermoor a heartbreaking drama of fatal family dynamics is set in the brooding lowlands of Scotland. Ancient clan hatreds, madness, murder, a fragile virtuous woman, passion, romance, loyalty, betrayal all come together in the climactic “mad scene” …. one of the most famous scenes in opera.
The cool thing about Vancouver Opera productions is that they are accessible to nearly everybody; tickets start at $29. No matter what price range of seating you are interested in, if you want to see Lucia di Lammermoor visit the Vancouver Opera website for more details. I can assure you, I will be in attendance on opening night.
