Where did Community Go, Part II

So where did community go? Why do so many people choose the iPod over real conversation? You see people walking around the city all the time with ear-buds in, essentially telling all others that your voice is not worthy.

You see the line-up of SUVs jockeying up to the front door of the school as the mommies try to let their kids off as close as they can. Why do they not walk to school? What would happen if there were streams of kids walking to school along the sidewalks in our communities? Why aren’t there?

And finally, why is Facebook so wildly popular? People on Facebook have hundreds of friends and yet they walk through life with ear plugs in, choosing their personal music over real life conversation.
