My Must Try Sushi Joint – Asa Sushi

We have our must-try breakfast joints page started and now it is time to start a page for must-try sushi joints.

I am talking about the small, hole-in-the-wall type places that we pop into on our way home or after work for a quick snack (who needs to arrive home starving and cranky?).

The first place I want to give a shout out to is the sushi joint near my parent’s home in South Burnaby, Asa Sushi. This is really just a hole-in-the wall joint in a tiny strip mall with a 7-11 and a veterinarian’s office. Yep, a hole-in-the-wall.

However, for my money Asa Sushi is a perfect little sushi joint.  The sushi they make is always fresh and beautifully presented. Yes, their BC Roll is unique. They use canned salmon in the roll rather than salmon skin. That may not appeal to all salmon purists but it does work for me.

I usually get takeaway when I go to Asa Sushi and I really like the way that they provide a little container of soy sauce rather than those awful little foil packages that I can never open.

For my money, Asa Sushi is my go to, must-try sushi joint.
