Siam Le Bien Pad Thai

Siam Le Bien; A Neighbourhood Gem

Last week we were visiting Companion Books on Hastings near Gilmore when we spotted Siam Le Bien, a Thai food eatery which is nestled in the heart of the Burnaby Heights neighbourhood.

Siam Le Bien Thai Restaurant stands as a haven for those seeking an authentic Thai dining experience. Within its walls, this little gem of a restaurant presents a variety of flavours that encapsulate the essence of Thai food – at least as we know it in North America.

Crispy Spring Rolls

The menu at Siam Le Bien Thai Restaurant is a testament to the rich tapestry of Thai cuisine. Each dish is meticulously crafted and spiced to your individual level of bravery. A word of caution – I chose medium spice level and the food almost lifted the top of my head off.

From the fragrant Tom Yum soup that the people at the table beside us enjoyed – yes, I mortified my children by asking the people at the table next to us what the amazing aromas were from the food they were having – to the sizzling Pad Thai, the Crispy Spring Rolls, every plate is a journey through flavour and spices.

The air inside Siam le Bien is infused with the tantalizing aroma of spices and herbs, setting the stage for a culinary adventure.

The Green Curry, a harmonious blend of spice and creaminess, and the marinated, deep fried pork belly starter, and the Drunken Noodles with onions, bell peppers, peppercorns and intense flavours are just a few of the flavours awaiting diners.

Siam Le Bien Pad Thai

One of my kids is on an “everything prawns” phase so the Pad Thai with prawns was her only choice. A plate loaded with rice noodles, big juicy prawns, tofu, egg, shallots, bean sprouts, chives and ground peanuts in tamarind sauce reduction filled her with joy.

Siam Le Bien Thai Restaurant isn’t just a place to dine; it’s an immersion into the heart of Thai culinary traditions. For those seeking an escape into the flavors of Thailand, this restaurant beckons—an invitation to explore, indulge, and savor the authentic tastes of a rich and diverse cuisine.
