It seems that the only time that Sweetheart and I get out for a date is to a theatre performance (not a bad deal, really). The next performance we have tickets to is Marc Camoletti’s 1960’s farce, Boeing-Boeing which is playing at to our local theatre, the Evergreen Cultural Centre from October 28th to November 2nd.

We are particularly excited to see this touring performance of Boeing-Boeing because the male lead, Kevin Kruchkywich, is the guy who played the role of Hamlet at the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare festival this summer just gone. That was a performance that I found mind-blowing in its intensity. So I am anxious to see what he does in this comedic role.
Correction – Jonathan Young played Hamlet at Bard on the Beach and while he played the part of Bernard in the Arts Club performance of Boeing-Boeing, Kevin Kruchkywich is playing the part of Bernard in the touring edition of Boeing-Boeing.
In case you do not know, Boeing-Boeing is the story of Bernard (Kevin Kruchkywich), a successful Parisian architect who juggles the hearts of three airline hostesses from different countries. When Bernard is visited by his bumbling school chum Robert (Andrew McNee reprising his Jessie award-winning role) and Boeing introduces a faster jet, Bernard’s precise romantic timetable goes hysterically off course and turbulence looms.

Boeing-Boeing will run at the Evergreen Cultural Centre from October 28th to November 2nd (of course there will be no show on the spooky night of October 31st).
If you are lucky enough to get tickets to the Tuesday evening performance (Oct 29th) you can also attend a free pre-show chat and Q&A session with the director of the Boeing-Boeing, David Mackay at 7pm.
To get your tickets to Boeing-Boeing, call the Evergreen Box office at 604-927-6555 or do like I did, book online at www.evergreenculturalcentre.ca.
