More on White Privilege

Following up on Tuesday’s blog post about white privilege, here’s another example of white privilege that should leave you scratching your head.

In the past I used to worry about getting stuck with a counterfeit $20 bill.

My worry about getting stuck with a counterfeit bill?

My worry was that if I tried to spend the counterfeit bill, I would be out $20.

George Floyd was alleged to have tried to use a counterfeit $20 bill.

After Floyd was apprehended for allegedly trying to pass a counterfeit bill, Derek Chauvin, a white cop kneeled on George Floyd’s neck for close to nine minutes.

While Chauvin kneeled on Floyd’s neck for nine minutes, Floyd was begging for mercy. Begging Chauvin to let him live.

Derek Chauvin ignored George Floyd’s calls for mercy his pleading for his mother to come to his assistance.

Chauvin kneeled on Floyd’s neck until George died. And then kept his knee on George Floyd’s neck for another 2 or 3 minutes.

When I got a counterfeit $20 my ONLY concern was that I was going to be out $20 if I got caught trying to spend it.

There is no reason in the world that a man should have to worry about being murdered by a cop simply because he might or might not have tried to use a counterfeit $20 bill.

White privilege is knowing that a cop is NOT going to kneel on my throat until I die if I try to use a counterfeit $20 bill.
