The age of the afternoon nap appears to have ended in our home. Getting our toddlers to nap was relatively easy but, goodness gracious, after the girls had slept in the afternoon, bed time was pure hell on wheels with screaming and fits.
So last Sunday we thought we would try to go without the afternoon. We did. No harm no foul during the daylight hours. In fact we had a lovely day wandering around Vancouver’s Chinatown.
Bed time came. What was going to happen we wondered; at 7 pm we went for tub-time, brush the teeth, read a couple books about dogs and pigs and other assorted farm animals. At 7:30 we said, “Okay, bed time.”
Both girls climbed into their beds and not even five minutes later we could hear them snoring. Awesome. However, the best part was that they slept through the night and woke up at 6:30am.
Life is beautiful. Hopefully the next thing to go are the diapers. Now that would be a milestone to celebrate.
