Well the bad news is that the Travis Tritt concert planned for the Fraser Downs Raceway has been cancelled. However, the good news is that the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is still on tour and has every intention of visiting our neck of the woods. Seeing as Travis Tritt will not be coming to town, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is coming to town, well, that sort of changes our concert ticket giveaway.
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is touring in support of what I figure is their 34th album. If you are interested in seeing the Nitty Gritty Dirt band, on October 19th they are playing in Chilliwack at Prospera Centre. As usual, you can purchase your tickets through Ticketmaster or…you can win them here!!
To win tickets to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band play in Chilliwack (c’mon folks, it is only an hour east of Metro Vancouver!) do the usual, comment on this post about why you want to see them AND post in the name of one of the opening acts for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. AND finally, post along with your “why you want to see this concert” comment, the name of one of the current members of the band or one of the former members. There certainly is an interesting list of former members.

Okay, this time I win! You know how I know I win? Because 1) this is a Tuesday night and it will be raining and 2) I do NOT want to drive to Chilliwack on a school night to see my old friend Jeff Hanna being Nitty Gritty 3) in my dad’s hometown. And, 4) did I say “old”? I’ve seen these guys a few times. They’re great. It’s a good time, but 5) we’ve heard the songs before and before and before.

This is one of the bands my mom always had playing while I was growing up. I can’t sing any of the songs off the top of my head, but I bet I’ll know every one of them once I hear them begin.

I want to win because it has been so looooooooong that I have forgotten everything I ever knew about this band. That is what having children and becoming joined at the hip can do to you.
So have pity on me and forgive me for not remembering any of it except that they are a great band and in my day, what I can remember, I really enjoyed the music and all that went with it.
Since i been a small child my uncle would play this band. he said if theres one thing in your life to do before your 40 is to see this band. I’m 39 and will be 40 in January. I feel this is tha last time i will ever gert the chance to see them before i turn 40. My favorite uncle died on my last birthday and i feel it would be a great and warming didication to his and my long time relationship to go.

I would love to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band but I somehow doubt the free tickets include airfare from the opposite coast. Ah, well, I can always get my two-step on all by my lonesome.

I saw them at the Linden, Washington Fair about 10 years ago. There are a fantastic act.I often said that I like to see them again and now I could park at home and walk to their venue.

Tough decision I have to make. Either go on a European Cruise or go see the group Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. (I know I would win the tickets) So after much thought (about one mili-second) I think I will let the rest of you try to win MY tickets to the concert. Enjoy the concert. I know I will enjoy Greece,Italy,Turkey and Croatia.

I have listened to Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, since I was a little girl. It has never gotten old!! I now share the music with my children, Id love to see them!
Well “Mr. Bojangles” if I don’t win you will be hearing “Some of Shelly’s Blues” and I will be “In for the Night”, “And So It Goes”. “All I Have to Do Is Dream” and it could happen. My girl friend said there won’t be any more “Fishing in the Dark” if I don’t get tickets and she will make sure I’m “Shot Full of Love” if I do. So get off your “High Horse” and pick me. I love the song Oh what a Love, but opening my be cadilac Ranch. Kenny Hess is great. I would love to win as I am able to go and have never heard them play live and it would be great.
