Spring Plant and Garage Sales

We have the first events we want to share with you!

First is the Dogwood Garden Club’s annual plant sale.

The group’s members are selling annuals, perennials, tomatoes and hanging baskets from their gardens at the fundraiser, which runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 in the Centennial Room at Coquitlam’s Dogwood Pavilion (624 Poirier St.). Club members will be on hand to answer gardening questions. Admission to the sale is free.

Another cool event worth a mention was brought to my attention by a friend of a friend. This one is a fund raiser for a private society raises money for educational scholarships and loans to women.

They are having a mega-sale in Coquitlam from 1:30 to 4:30pm on Sunday May 27th, at the River Springs Recreation Centre located at 1950 Lodge Drive in Coquitlam.

There will be homemade baking for sale, coffee, books, plants, possibly a few craft items and garage sale items.  There will also be raffle baskets – in case you feel lucky that day.

    Plant sales abound! Saturday and Sunday, May 5th and May 6th, New Westminster is having its annual plant sale – and volunteers from Royal City Alternate Program will be on hand to help out. Some of the proceeds will be going to the kids programming. Another worthy cause – close to my heart!
