We awoke this “morning” to the single most frightening sound that anyone can ever awake to. This is the sound that strikes terror into the hearts of people all across North America. That sound? The inimitable sound of a cat puking. Puking up the gory contents of its entire digestive system…onto the down comforter.
The twins eyes nearly popped out of their head as they watched the athletic prowess of their mother leap straight up in the air, grab the cat and point the puking end of it away from the familial resting place.
This could be the first morning ever that we did not awake to the duelling muelling of the twins. I really believe that might be preferable to today’s wake up call.
Oh yeah, our “morning” wake-up call came at 3:45am. And after the twins bore witness to the cat-puking festivities, they had no interest in going back to sleep. So it is up and at’em!!

Oh no! I don’t have twins but I have 4 kids and 2 cats. A week ago my 5 year old puked in his bed and didn’t even wake up – slept right through it. We check them every night before bed so we found him at 11:00 just covered in it. Then he was up all night puking. Puke is no fun whether it is from a cat or a kid. Great job saving your comforter! 🙂
“Puking festivities”. I think my next writing assignment will be to include that phrase in a short story or poem. Can’t wait. Hopefully, no one will have to be up at 3:45 am doing research.
